It is not simply a commonplace that a Fulbright scholarship or grant is a life-changing experience. The Program is so popular and so prestigious only because it has touched so many, and certainly me. If one carefully thinks about it, this makes Fulbright, in fact, an education-driven process that silently shapes the global culture.
As a researcher, I know how much it is important to document the experience, to keep track of it and to share with others. This is why I was excited about the possibility of being part of the editorial board of Fulbright Chronicles (FC).
I envision FC primarily as a place where alumni can pinpoint the research outcomes and impact resulting from their Fulbright experience in an informative fashion so that it can be accessed and enjoyed by the broader readership of the journal. Matching the journal scope and quality of the contributions is warranted by the editorial process based on peer-review. To start a new journal and making it successful is always a challenge, and so it is also for FC. However, I felt it is one worth undertaking and this is why I’m grateful for having been selected to be part of this project.
